Initial Meeting
Before the 1st session, there will be a touch-base session, arranged by the Research For All Team. This is a session to provide both mentees and mentors with an introduction to each other and organize dates/times for the following weeks.
1st to 2nd Session
Mentees are recommended to come beforehand with a set of topics they are interested in exploring within that field, accompanied by research questions for each respective topic. The mentor will guide the student and evaluate whether it is feasible for the student to pursue each research question, and may also suggest alternate research questions that would suit the mentee’s aptitude. By
the end of the 2nd session, the student should have attempted to reach a project title, outcome, and description.
3rd Session
The mentor will guide the fundamental structure of a research paper and offer essential writing tips to ensure a coherent and well-organized document. This includes explaining the introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion sections of a research paper. The mentor will also guide the mentee on how to do proper citation and referencing.
4th to 5th Session
The mentor will provide a general framework for the mentee's research paper, tailored to the student's topic of interest. This session includes discussing the benefits and drawbacks of the topic to guide the student's exploration and conclusions. Sessions are customized based on the student's comfort level with the topic, focusing on learning approaches to aggregating and classifying information if needed.
6th to 7th Session
The mentor evaluates the student's research paper, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement to enhance the quality of the paper. Additionally, the mentor offers assistance in the publication process of the research paper, guiding the student on how to refine the paper for submission to academic journals.
